Objectives
A Trainee Yard Official will be required to undergo modular training, conduct and successfully complete the required modules as to qualify and certified as a Yard Official.
Responsibilities
- Successfully completing a structured theoretical training programme within the prescribed time.
- Participating in and passing a practical training programme to gain hands-on experience.
- Learning to safely and effectively perform duties assigned during the training period.
- Developing the skills required to operate rail yard equipment and conduct operations independently.
- Maintaining a portfolio of evidence documenting all your training progress and experience.
Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric/Grade 12 is the minimum educational requirement.
- Pass a psychological screening (battery test).
- Pass a medical fitness test, including vision and hearing checks.
- Demonstrate basic computer literacy.
- Be physically fit and able to work in demanding environments.
- Complete and pass both theoretical and practical training components of the programme.
