Purpose of the SAB Learnership Program

The primary goal of the SAB Learnership 2025 is to implement a market-driven, differentiated service model that strengthens SAB’s competitiveness within the Tavern Class of Trade. Learners will contribute to sustainable brand growth, increased market share, and enhanced corporate reputation through targeted customer engagement and trade execution strategies.

Key Skills & Competencies Required

1. Commercial Aptitude

  • Understanding of the sales and marketing value chain
  • Ability to gather and use competitor intelligence
  • Strong grasp of profitability, pricing strategy, product mix, and merchandising

Learnership Responsibilities

AMPPS Execution (Availability, Merchandising, Price, Promotions, Space):

  • Ensure 100% stock availability through proactive outlet planning
  • Implement merchandising in line with In Trade Execution Guidelines (ITEG)
  • Monitor and maintain promotional price points
  • Maximize shelf space and brand visibility for optimal volume growth

Asset Management:

  • Manage SAB refrigeration units and permanent POS assets
  • Verify asset usage and assist customers with stock rotation
  • Conduct asset surveys and ensure adherence to SAB standards

Minimum Requirements to Apply for SAB Learnership 2025

  • National Diploma or Degree (relevant fields preferred)
  • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 Driver’s License
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office proficiency)
  • Strong knowledge of local areas and tavern trade landscape
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Must pass a driver’s assessment test as part of the selection process
