PEP Imports Graduate Internship 2025 | Supply Chain & Logistics Opportunity
Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career in supply chain and logistics? PEP, South Africa’s largest single-brand retailer, is offering an exciting Imports Graduate Internship as part of its PEP Graduate Internships 2025 program. This is a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced retail industry while contributing to critical import and logistics functions.
About the Imports Graduate Role
As an Imports Graduate Intern, you will play a vital role in coordinating all aspects of international shipments. This includes the creation of documentary letters of credit, communication with suppliers and clearing agents, and assisting with high-impact projects within the Imports team.
Minimum Requirements:
- A completed Degree or Diploma in one of the following:
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics and Supply Chain
- Management
- Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain and Operations Management
- A qualification in Imports/Exports will be advantageous
- Previous Imports/Exports experience is an added benefit
- Strong administration skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Google Suite (G Suite)
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage import shipment documentation, including Letters of Credit
- Track, trace, and prioritize international shipments
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant deliveries
- Liaise with clearing and forwarding agents on shipment exceptions and notify relevant departments (Merchandise, Planning, Finance)
- Ensure customs compliance and document accuracy before submission to banks and clearing agents
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding documents, pro forma invoices, and unreleased orders
- Update shipment details on the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database
- Manage import schedules and ensure smooth delivery to Distribution Centres (DCs)
- Assist with weekly and month-end reports, special projects, and general office administration
