Intern – Supply Chain Management
Reporting To: Assistant Manager: Supply Chain Management
Department: Supply Chain Division
About the Role
As a Supply Chain Intern at AgriSETA, you will support the supply chain management team in their daily operations. This includes procurement processes, bid administration, logistics, and travel coordination.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Procurement:
- Source quotes from tax-compliant vendors registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD)
- Compile and analyze Request for Quotation (RFQ) comparisons
- Generate and manage purchase orders
- Ensure adherence to SCM (Supply Chain Management) prescripts
- Track and follow up on supplier deliveries
- Assist with contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Maintain compliance with SCM threshold values and policies
Bid Administration:
- Support Bid Committee meetings and ensure compliance with National Treasury SCM regulations
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Bidding Committee
Logistics Management:
- Manage office supplies, including stationery and groceries
- Conduct monthly stock-taking
- Record and file stationery requests for auditing purposes
Travel Arrangements:
- Assist staff with travel logistics and bookings
- Handle after-hours travel queries
- Address both internal and external travel inquiries
Reporting:
- Submit reports according to deadlines
- Maintain accurate procurement process reports and RFQ registers
Ad Hoc Duties:
- Carry out other administrative and supply chain duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- NQF Level 6 qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
- No prior work experience required in supply chain
- South African citizenship
Key Competencies:
- Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
