Are you looking for a government job in Ekurhuleni with Grade 10 qualifications? The City of Ekurhuleni is offering a temporary General Worker opportunity for local residents to join a ward-based Environmental Health outreach programme.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
  • Must be a resident of Ekurhuleni
  • Must reside in the ward where the service will be provided (attach proof of residence)
  • Willing and able to work in local communities conducting fieldwork

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform door-to-door education and conduct health-related surveys in assigned wards
  • Educate the public on rodent control and other Environmental Health issues
  • Distribute pamphlets and mobilize community members for awareness campaigns and meetings
  • Identify and report infested premises, follow up with visits, and provide reports
  • Collaborate with Environmental Health Practitioners and participate in education initiatives
  • Inspect a minimum of 30 premises per day
  • Complete daily attendance registers and submit data using standard collection tools
  • Keep records of pamphlet distribution and visited households
  • Conduct health talks and assist in the coordination of block meetings and community events
