Learnerships Available
Interested individuals who want to apply for a learnership with this department can look at the following fields:

  • General Nursing
  • Auxiliary Nursing
  • Community Nursing
  • Midwifery

The Learnership program usually takes place for a period of 12 months. Individuals who are very committed to work with patients or have the great care for the ill this Learnership could be what you have been looking for. This Learnership program expose individuals to a great learning opportunity of all time and successful individuals will receive a monthly stipend of approximately R1500. 

Requirements
Individuals that are ready to move forward and build a career within the nursing field may apply if they meet all requirements. Individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and live within the area where they make their applications.

  • Individuals must be a permanent citizen of South Africa
  • Individuals must be possession of a valid ID document
  • Individuals must passes Matric / Grade 12 c
  • Individuals must stay within the area they are applying in
  • Individuals must not be employed
  • Individuals must be proficient in English, read, write and speak
  • Candidates with Life Science and Biology subjects will be beneficial
  • Individuals must be computer literate

Application process

Department of Health North West learnership application online is not available. Interested individuals can get the application form from the Department of Health offices in their area. The application must be completed and signed before it is submitted. All important documentation must be certified and accompany the application.

Please take into account that , any submissions received by registered mail, e-mail or fax is not acceptable. Submissions must be hand delivered to the same office where it was collected from. Individuals with a disability may also apply. Individuals who do not get notice within two months after the closing of submissions may consider their application unsuccessful. Only those individuals who make it to the shortlist will be contacted. The department has the right to verify all documentation and ask individuals to undergo a medical and security verification process.
