EPWP General Worker Vacancies at Emakhazeni Local Municipality
The Emakhazeni Local Municipality hereby invites suitably qualified, motivated, and physically capable individuals to apply for temporary employment positions under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). These positions are available within the Department of Community Services and Social Development. The municipality expects successful candidates to assume duties as soon as practically possible after the recruitment process concludes.
Available Positions And Project Locations:
The following number of vacancies are available in the respective areas within the Emakhazeni jurisdiction:
- Emakhazeni: 25 Positions
- Entokozweni: 20 Positions
- Emgwenya: 10 Positions
- Dullstroom: 10 Positions
Duration Of Employment:
These positions are of a temporary nature and will be for a fixed-term period of twelve (12) monthsonly.
Daily Remuneration:
Successful applicants will receive a daily wage of R130.00 (One Hundred and Thirty Rand).
Minimum Requirements For Consideration:
- Unemployment Status: Applicants must currently not have a job.
- Physical Fitness: Applicants must maintain physical fitness, good health, and the ability to perform manual labour tasks daily.
- Residency Requirement: Applicants must reside within the ward or project area in which they are applying to work.
- Proof of Residence: Applicants must submit valid and official proof of residence issued by Emakhazeni
- Local Municipality along with their applications.
- Identification Document: A certified copy of the applicant’s South African Identity Document (ID) must accompany each application.
- Educational Qualification: While Grade 12 (Matric) is not a compulsory requirement, it will be considered an added advantage during the selection process.
Key Responsibilities And Duties:
The relevant municipal supervisors will require successful candidates to perform the following duties:
- General cleaning of streets and public areas within the community.
- Collection and removal of litter and debris from roadsides, pavements, and open spaces.
- Clean-up of areas affected by illegal dumping activities.
- Participation in environmental initiatives such as tree planting and beautification projects.
- Routine cleaning and maintenance of public parks, cemeteries, libraries, community sports centres, and other municipal buildings or facilities.
- Providing assistance to members of the public at municipal waste disposal and collection sites.
- Performing any additional tasks and duties of an ad hoc nature as may be reasonably requested by management or departmental supervisors in the interest of operational efficiency.
