Requirements: 

  • Grade 12, basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) of B.Pharm Degree that allows a registration with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Current registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist (proof of payment). appropriate experience in Pharmacy after registration with SAPC as Pharmacist. A valid driver’s license. SKILLS: Analytical skills and communication skills (verbal and written). Excellent numeracy, interpersonal, supervisory planning and organizing skills. Knowledge of pharmaceutical processes, financial management, relevant legislation and policies, record keeping and drug-supply management. Be self-motivated. Must be a team player. Good time management. Good computer skills

Duties:

  • Provision of an effective pharmaceutical care in hospital pharmacy. Ensuring that all regulations covering the operations of the pharmacy are carried out and complied with. Compliance with all relevant legislations, rules, codes and guidelines of SAPC. Continuously reviewing his/her level of professional knowledge and expertise. Ensure safekeeping and security of stock, preventing losses, theft and expired stock. Ensure budget control and avoidance of wasteful and fruitless expenditure. Conduct cyclic and bi-annual stock counts. Evaluation of patient’s medicine related needs by determining the indication, safety and effectiveness of the therapy. Leave management and perform PMDS of subordinates. Provide training, promoting rational medicine use, monitoring availability of essential medicines. Compliance to ideal hospital framework and NHI as applicable to pharmacy. Deputize for the pharmacy manager when necessary.
