Midvaal Local Municipality Internship 2025 Purpose
The aim of the Midvaal Financial Management Internship Programme 2025 is to train and develop individuals in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA). Upon successful completion, interns may be considered for permanent employment opportunities within the municipality or the broader public finance sector.
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Management Intern at Midvaal Local Municipality, your duties will include:
- Assisting with municipal billing processes including rates and service charges
- Handling customer service queries and complaints within the income section
- Supporting cashiering operations, as and when required
- Contributing to the completion of National Treasury reporting templates
- Assisting in the preparation and reconciliation of municipal accounts
- Performing general administrative duties in the finance department
- Supporting tasks related to Expenditure Management and Supply Chain Management (SCM)
- Assisting with Asset Management, including record keeping and auditing
- Contributing to Risk Management, Insurance Claims, and Compliance functions
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Midvaal Municipality Internship 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
A three-year National Diploma or Degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Auditing
- Risk Management
- Or an equivalent qualification
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
