The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) distributes a number of different grants and depending on your circumstances, you may qualify for a Sassa grant.
The Covid-19 pandemic saw more than 2 million people lose their jobs while countless others had lost income due to lockdowns.
This resulted in President Cyril Ramphosa introducing the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant which paid eligible individuals R350 per month.
It is important to note that the last three digits of your Identification number determine on which day you can collect your SRD grant at the post office.

15 February: ID numbers ending in 083 and 088
16 February: ID numbers ending in 084 and 089
17 February: ID numbers ending in 080 and 085
