The Shoprite Bursary aims to attract and fund talented Chartered Accounting students to become part of the Company’s Finance team after the completion of their studies.
About the Shoprite Accounting Bursary Programme
The Shoprite SAICA Trainee Accountant Programme provides trainees with exposure to the commerce industry across the business, academic support and is mentored by our management team to ensure that we develop well-rounded CAs.
During the three-year Shoprite SAICA Trainee Accountant Programme, trainees receive the opportunity to rotate throughout the business and learn through on the job training to ensure that they receive the best technical exposure to develop the prescribed SAICA learning outcomes in preparation for the SAICA APC exam.
The SAICA Trainee Accountant Programme accepts applications from those who are continuing their search for the suitable Training Office.
What the bursary covers:
- Tuition fees: Shoprite will cover the full cost of your tuition.
- Accommodation: You may be eligible for accommodation allowances.
- Books and study materials: The bursary will assist with the purchase of necessary textbooks and study materials.
- Living expenses: A stipend may be provided to cover living expenses.
Eligibility criteria:
- Academic excellence: You must have a strong academic record, especially in subjects related to accounting.
- Financial need: You must demonstrate financial need.
- South African citizen: You must be a South African citizen.
- Enrolled in an accounting degree: You must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accounting degree at a recognized South African university.
Qualifications
- BCom Accounting, BAcc (CA stream) degree
- 65%+ Aggregate
- Minimum 65% in Accounting,Taxation and Auditing
- 2nd, 3rd and 4th academic year/ PGDA / CTA
- SA citizen
- 27 years old and younger
