Purpose of the Unilever Learnership Programme

The Unilever Learnership 2026 is designed to equip learners with practical skills in automated packaging operations. The programme focuses on developing technical, mechanical, and operational competence while ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, quality, and environmental standards. Learners will also gain valuable business awareness and communication skills required for effective production line coordination.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Unilever Learnership Programme, successful candidates will be required to:

  • Perform general production line operations and cleaning activities according to operational plans.
  • Conduct pre-start-up checks to ensure equipment readiness, cleanliness, and safety in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor product and packaging quality to ensure compliance with set standards and report defects immediately.
  • Identify process abnormalities and take corrective action to prevent production disruptions.
  • Clean and maintain machinery in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and site specifications.
  • Prepare, handle, and verify raw materials for production use.
  • Maintain personal safety and promote team safety on the production line.
  • Support eco-efficient practices and contribute to a sustainable working environment.
  • Complete all learnership requirements, including assessments, logbooks, and assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following minimum requirements:

  • A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12 / Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science, or
  • An N2, N3, or N4 Engineering qualification.
