FOOD SERVICE MANAGER LEVEL 7

Requirements :

  • Grade 12 with National Diploma in Food Service Management / Food and Beverage (3 years’ HET level) or Degree or B-Tech in Food Service Management / Food and Beverage Management (4years HET level). Minimum of five (5) years relevant Food Service Management experience preferably in a Hospital Environment. Knowledge and understanding of all relevant food services Acts. Skills required: Computer literacy, catering skills, Knowledge of PFMA and supply chain regulations, Knowledge of Policies, procedures, acts and protocols related to quality assurance, infection control, hygiene and safety for food services, communication (written and verbal). Ability to work under pressure. Be able to work effectively within a team. Must have a valid driver’s license. Willingness to work extended hours.

Duties :

  • Ensuring proper and effective catering service. Managing Food Service Operations, Administration, and staff on a day to day basis. Ensuring that all procedures are followed at the ordering and receiving. Storing and issuing of stock. Ensure that all production procedures are adhered to by being involved in menu planning, compiling of master order and giving inputs in the Departmental budget. Plan and implement procedures to stay in in line with the budget. Ensure that plate waste studies and patient are conducted as prescribed. Responsible for effective Human resource functions and optimal labour utilizations. Ensure effective usage and management of equipment’s and give inputs in procurement of equipment and utensils. Identify, plan and conduct relevant training for staff. Ensure implementation of Provincial Guidelines and Policies as prescribed by Department of Health. Be responsible for Performance Appraisal of staff (PMDS). Attend to human Resource matters, do record keeping and statics, compile and submit reports. Adhere to all Food Service Policies and Procedures.
