The aim of this Learnership program is to promote this group of workers. People used to think that disabled individuals would not be able to function, but now the perception has changed that is what this Learnership program is about.

Requirements
Due to the vastness of fields, learnerships available for people with disability have a variety of requirements for each. Some of these are similar and we have listed those here. However, depending on the field you enter, there may be additional requirements. These will be advertised on the application form, the company or organization?s web page or the learnership advertisement.
Basic Requirements may be as follow:
- Individuals must be a citizen of South Africa
- Must not be employed and hold a valid ID document
- Individuals must not have any criminal record
- Must have a valid Grade 12 certification
- You must be no older than 35 years
- Individuals must be fluent in English and have exceptional communication skills
- Individuals must provide a medical certificate stating nature of disability
- All individuals must have a diploma or degree in field of application where relevant
Application process
Nowadays things have changed some things have become more easier, why do we say so? Because most companies offer Learnerships that can be applied through the internet isn’t that easy?. However there are some companies that still allow hand delivered applications, this is basically for individuals who are unable to access the internet. It will be clearly stated on the advertising company that applications are done through the internet or hand delivered?therefore individuals should take the best route they think is suitable for themselves.
Successful individuals will receive a monthly stipend however individuals will have to take care of their accommodation, meals and transport costs. This Learnership program usually takes place for a period 12 to 24 months. Applications must be completed and signed otherwise they will not be considered
