Purpose
Plan, source and execute an appealing product assortment (style, quantity and quality), of distinctive value, at the best price, aligned to the Company’s strategic objectives, which delights our customers in order to maximize sales and net profit. Effectively manage product life cycle in order to ensure that the right product is available in stores at the right time.
Key responsibilities
– Preparation and presentation of merchandise assortments
– Preparation of the post seasonal laydown
– Understanding the future trends and interpret them into assortment plans
– Preparation and analysis of a post mortem
– Preparing briefs, specs and cads
– Negotiating the prices and fabrications with suppliers
– Seeking new suppliers based on best price, quality, availability and reliability
– Track market conditions and price trends
– Management and organization of samples
Requirements
- Education:
- Grade 12.
- Relevant qualification
- Experience:
- A minimum of 4 – 5 years relevant FMCG buying experience within consumables or personal care
- Knowledge/ Skills:
- Good organizational and planning abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong administrative Skills
- Team player
- Mathematics skills.
