SASSA R350 Grant Date For November

Last month it was announced that Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant recipients who did not claim their grants from the first cycle of payments will have the opportunity to collect their money.

However, grant recipients have experienced challenges when trying to collect their money at ATMs. This is because their bank accounts have been inactive over a period of time.

SASSA explained that they needed to reconcile bank statements to confirm that the money has been returned to SASSA before they can regenerate payments to grant recipients. This process is expected to be completed by the end of November 2021.

SASSA have previously said that grant recipients have until the end of November 2021 to collect their grant funds from the first cycle of SRD payments. They warned that should grant recipients fail to collect their money, it will be forfeited to the State.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) CEO, Busisiwe Memela-Khambula, at the time praised the announcement from the Minister of Social Development Lindiwe Zulu as visionary leadership. It meant that all approved grant recipients could access their funds.

Memela-Khambula said, “We also acknowledge that this special grant goes a long way in assisting the most vulnerable in society. Therefore we urge approved clients who have unclaimed funds from the previous cycle to collect them as soon as possible”.
